Dear Friends of Grain of Wheat,
Dear Friends of Grain of Wheat,
A new season has begun, and we hope it will be for a short duration: a time to
heal wounds, to restore a peaceful family spirit, so that we can focus on the
ministry God has entrusted to us.
Due to major misunderstandings between the leadership and the majority of
the country directors, the International Council concluded that the trust between
the leadership and the country directors could no longer be restored.
This led to the termination of the working relationship with the international
director and the mass resignation of the International Council. In response to
the urgent situation, a new Council has been formed and new leadership has
been put in place for an interim period of one to two years.
This is an intense period with a very small team working cohesively. Our current
priority is to sustain the ministry among children and prepare it for the
future by serving partner countries. For over 75 years, we have witnessed
God’s faithfulness through all the challenges we have faced. Thus, we can
continue with confidence, “being confident of this, that he who began a good
work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Phil.
1:6
We come from different backgrounds, diverse cultures, speak various languages,
and are shaped by different schools of thought. Yet, we seek to live
in unity with the desire to collaborate for the good of the mandate Christ has
given us: to share the good news of the gospel with children and to help them
grow in their journey of faith. For that, a significant international meeting
is planned for the end of October, which will bring together most of the directors.
During this meeting, we plan to initiate several participatory and/
or consultative processes to build the future with those on the ground while
preserving the values that have been foundational to Grain of Wheat’s ministry.
We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we can rely on God’s faithfulness,
and in this context, your help is very precious through your prayers and generosity.
We know that God’s work has not stopped, and all our teams are motivated
to continue bringing the good news to children so that their lives and those
of their families may be transformed by the unconditional love of God manifested
in Jesus Christ our Savior.
